As an ESMT my main aim is to use sports massage to allow horses of all levels to perform freely without discomfort and to ensure that your horse maintains top physical condition.
Courtney is a fully trained and qualified Equine Sports Massage Therapist (ESMT) with Equissage Europe run by Hellen Woolley a physiotherapist and ESMT. Equissage Europe is one of the only programmes which is recognised by Mary Scriber whom is the founder of Equissage. Courtney is studying her BSc Hons Equine sports rehabilitation and therapy degree with the University of Greenwich and is going into her second year. Courtney is very passionate about Equine anatomy and is dedicated to expanding her knowledge throughout the course of her degree.
Courtney uses a wide range of massage strokes within a massage session such as; Effleurage, jostling, sweating, percussion, compressions, cat paw, zigzag, palpation, direct pressure, cross friction fibre and myofascial release. Every horse is different; therefore, Courtney will adapt the above techniques to meet the needs of individual horses.
As an Equine Sports Massage Therapist, Courtney works in accordance to the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966. Which states that approved vet consent must be given before working on any animal. Please remember that equine sports massage is not a substitute for veterinary attention. Please contact, Courtney Knapp ESMT for a Veterinary consent form which will be emailed to you.
